Corrections Policy

Our commitment to accuracy

Readers use Recommended Optics to compare gear before spending money, so accuracy matters. We work to get specifications, model names and explanations right, and we fix mistakes when we learn of them.

What counts as an error

  • A wrong specification, such as magnification, lens size or weight
  • An outdated price or a model that has been replaced
  • A broken or misdirected link
  • Wording that is unclear or could mislead

Errors can creep in when a manufacturer revises a model, a store changes a listing or a source is misread. We would rather hear about a mistake than leave it standing.

How to report one

Email editorial@recommendedoptics.com. Please include the page URL and a short description of what is wrong. A link to the manufacturer’s page showing the right detail makes the check quicker.

What happens after a report

  1. The Recommended Optics Editorial Team reads your report.
  2. We check the claim against manufacturer information.
  3. If it is confirmed, we fix the page.
  4. For significant corrections, we add a note on the page.

We do not promise a set response time, but every report is read.

Small fixes, such as a typo or a broken link, are made quietly. A correction that changes what a reader would decide gets a note on the page so the change is visible.

Prices and availability

Prices and stock change constantly. The store’s own page is the final source, so a price that differs from ours may simply be newer. See the Disclaimer for more.
