Respect for copyright
Recommended Optics respects copyright. If you believe something on the site copies your work without permission, you can ask us to remove it.
Sending a takedown notice
Email legal@recommendedoptics.com with these items:
- A description of the copyrighted work you say was infringed
- The URL on Recommended Optics where the material appears
- Your name, email address and other contact details
- A statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorized by the owner, its agent or the law
- A statement that the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you own the work or may act for the owner
- Your physical or electronic signature
What we do with a valid notice
The Recommended Optics Editorial Team reviews complete notices. When one is valid, we remove or disable the material and may tell the person who supplied it. If a notice is missing items, we may ask for them first.
Please send notices only for material you have a real basis to challenge. Knowingly false claims can carry legal consequences, and we may share a valid notice with the person who posted or supplied the material.
Counter-notices
If you think we removed something by mistake, send a counter-notice to the same address. Describe the material and where it appeared, give your contact details, state under penalty of perjury that you believe the removal was an error, and sign it. We may restore the material unless the original complainant takes further action.
Repeat infringers
We may end access for people who repeatedly infringe copyright.
Good to know
This page does not name a registered DMCA agent or a postal address, and notices are handled by email. Our Terms of Service cover intellectual property more generally.
